24 Season 8 Episode 16 Day 8: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM

What more can they do for another 8 episodes? This episode seems to almost wrap everything up – sadly. They have to get hold of the terrorists – I get that, but in 8 episodes?

P.S. Remember what happened to Bill Buchanan in the last season? Important character for me in the program, puts his body on the line, and dies. But the show still went on, so I'm sure they'll give us one hell of a dramatic anti-climax to close out this legendary TV drama.

Small bit of dramatic irony when Dana said “i want you to handle this Jack so nothing goes wrong”….hmmm one thinks she knew that was gonna happen. Also think Renne is gonna die this season and Jack's gonna be forced to kidnap the President. Any takers???

Ok I just read a leaked script from FOX and this is the ending:

Jack and a tac team will go slowly driving to a location and be 5 minutes out. Then the top russian will ask for immunity for his knowledge. Jack'll be pissed and thrust him a few times. cole will pout and so will chloe. hastings will pace around with his phone clicker while Ethan Kanin makes a private call to Bill Buchanan (who's not really dead), to tell him Bauer is closing in. Bill will be 5 minutes out and will be there soon, he screams. Jack will wince when he sees bill and that's when jack'll get shot (in the ear) while Rennee pouts and does a roundhouse kick into bill's balls as she shoots all 17 russian mob bosses.

She'll then run off with the money by meeting cole on 46th and 3rd just after he's shot all the tac team who were sadly only 2 minutes out. cole'll ring hastings to ask for a helicopter on the roof of the rockefella center where Ethan Kanin will be waiting with a letter from Charles Logan pleading to let him go with them. Otherwise he'll make a private call to Charles Henderson who is on the next building to take them out (we cut to henderson's face, and he looks mean.) In the meantime hastings has got another tac team 8 minutes out, being led by Hassan's daughter who turned out to be a ninja IRK secret black ops delta force, sas & mossad enthusiast who's ready to revenge her father's death.

Renee sweet talks Ethan into looking to the west for the signal and then she pushes cole off the roof and she stabs Ethan in the foot. She jumps into the chopper and forces to the pilot to FLY. cole lands on the street and coughs just as the tac team arrive, he says sorry to Kayla hassan just as he dies. Kayla then calls CTU for satellite re-alignment over the area which happens instantly and hasting gets to watch it all. in the meantime Renee calls Jack on her private line, just as jack steals the tac team's SUV, to brief him. She makes a quick detour to CTU and sweet talks the security guards into giving her access to the “floor”, she then accesses the server room and re-formats all the servers and renders them inoperable. then she makes her escape totally unhindered. she gets to the chopper only to find chloe has taken off in it already. she runs back inside and pleads to hastings that she was not thinking straight and didn't want to kill anyone and that Ethan pressured her. hastings folds and reinstates her as chief analyst & field op' commander and gives her a workstation. from there she contacts jack but he tells her that he's made his choice and chloe's the one for him. renee sees red and kills hastings with a biro. she then leaves CTU, again unhindered, which then explodes behind her. Amazingly the scene cuts to everyone coughing inside covered in dust…she then climbs into a nearby Lexus and speeds off chasing chloe in the helicopter who happens to be right above the FDR (4ft above). Renee climbs on the roof of the car and jumps onto the helicopter just as the NYPD are 3.5minutes out. chloe then reveals herself to be Jack's wife in disguise and explains how she's been faking her identity all these years as a top CTU analyst just so jack and her can finally get some f**kcing peace and finally have the trip to Milwaukee that jack promised her back in the 7th grade.Renee then takes a leap of faith because she thinks the world of jack and she lands in the east river where she so happens to find the terrorists' zodiac boat bobbing up and down in the water. In there which she finds one left over nuclear rod.

The season ends with Jack meeting Terry, putting on his sunglasses and walking off into the smoggy afternoon on 36th and Broadway with their breifcase of russian mob money which only took 8 days of hell to get incl. a trip to china and a heroin addiction. Meanwhile renee grabs her nuclear rod and looks around the east river in all directions pouting and looking terrified, then she makes THE call. You know. THE call. And says: “It's me…I have the last remaining rod. Yes I know what to do…” and ends the call. The scene/season ends with her staring into the camera clutching the rod with a tiny little smirk.
