    I think its showing what happened if the plane crashed and if it didnt. In that case they are on the plane and going over the island, which that is the part where it didnt crash

    When Jack returned to his seat, Desmond was gone and Rose didn't know anything about him (she was asleep). I don't think Desmond is really there. He is communicating to Jack through Jack's consciousness and will help him get back on the right track.

    Desmond was already on the island…but in the beginning you could see the island sunk in the sea…and if I remember correctly Desmond landed on the island when his boat got into a storm…so maybe he died without the island and Jack talked to his ghost or something like that…

    We all know that Jacob had a major effect on the lives of thoes who came to the island, jack, boone, Desmond ect.. with the island gone, he has'nt effected theire lives at all, so theire lives is completely different than had the island not been blown away!

    when juliet set off the bomb it blasted everyone back into the future to their normal time and it blew juliet with them so she wasnt actually blown up plus it wasnt a nuclear bomb it was a hydrogen bomb. and the writers are brilliant you just cant appreciate it because you are too stupid.
