An American musical dramedy, “Glee” revolves around “New Directions!”, a high school show choir also known as a glee club. Will Schuester is an optimistic Spanish teacher who, against all odds and McKinley High’s brooder cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, hopes to restore the Glee Club to its former glory. In the process, Will helps a group of aspiring underdogs realize that they have a huge potential to become stars. Our teacher’s only chance lies with two true talents: Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson. A youngster who sees MySpace and show choir as her tickets to success, Rachel is often bullied by the cheerleading squad and football players. As ironic as it may seem, Finn symbolizes the popular quarterback with movie star looks who is as near as a touch of paying a high price for joining the Glee Club.

Also in the club are Mercedes Jones, a “diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up”, Artie Abrams, a paraplegic guitarist who rocks and rolls, Kurt Hummel, a gay male soprano who, at first, struggles with his identity and Tina Cohen-Chang, a punk rocker who hides behind a fake speech impediment and blue hair extensions. While everyone around him thinks he is nuts, Will is determined to save McKinley High’s Glee Club from obscurity although his only ally is Emma Pillsbury, the school’s germaphobe guidance counselor who happens to have feelings for the charming Spanish teacher. However, Will has an amoral and demanding wife named Terri.

Among them and other fascinating characters who are waiting to be discovered, “Glee” features Broadway stars in recurring or minor roles, including Debra Monk as Will’s mother, Victor Garber as Will’s father, John Lloyd Young as “a retired wood shop teacher with an excellent singing voice”, Kristin Chenoweth, Sarah Drew, Josh Groban, Mike O’Malley, Michael Hitchcock, Eve and Olivia Newton-John… just to name a few.
