What would you do if you knew what your future held? Based on the 1999 novel of the same name written by Robert J. Sawyer, Flash Forward is an American science fiction television series that focuses on the consequences of a strange global event which simultaneously inflicts on everyone on the planet the loss of consciousness for two minutes and seventeen seconds. During this time, each person has some sort of visions with slices of their lives six months in the future. More than that, the first repercussions of the blackout are more than devastating… crashed aircraft, helicopters fell on buildings, cars involved in terrible accidents, millions of deaths worldwide and global panic. As if that weren’t enough, the survivors wonder whether what they saw will really happen… a quick succession of flashes and everything changes for some for the better while for others for the worse.

Flash Forward

Los Angeles FBI Agent Mark Benford, whose dry wit makes him a great leader, is more than determined to discover what happened, why and whether it will happen again. What puts him in an extremely valuable position is the fact that, during his flash forward, Mark was looking at a project board covered with pictures and notes which can help them decipher the mystery. As he and his team try to figure out what caused the bizarre event, they establish a huge database of people’s flash forwards from all over the world. The Mosaic Collective is named after a case from one of the visions and, step by step, will piece together the future.

Among the main characters of the show rank Dr. Olivia Benford, Mark’s wife and a surgeon at a major hospital, Special Agent Demetri Noh, Mark’s partner, FBI Assistant Director Stanford Wedeck, the head of the FBI Los Angeles field office, Special Agent Janis Hawk and others who are waiting to be discovered.

Are the visions predestined to happen? Can people change their fate? Will those who saw a tenebrous future try to change it or will they take the hint and accept it? One thing we know for sure… not a single person will get away unaffected. What are you waiting for? Embark on a fascinating journey and find out the answers to these burning questions!     A lot of shows are going on hiatus due to the WINTER OLYMPICS. They seem to think everyone will be watching the Olympics. I, for one, don't care about the Olympics.

    Anyone else think that maybe they all didn't FLASH FORWARD to their future, but to an alternate universe future? (They did mention alternate universes in the last episode)
  • may be past present and future all excist at one point in space time and what they actually saw was the future playing out at that point in spacetime everything is linked together definitivley therefore being able to peer into the memories and mind of a parrell you hence not being able to change the past but being able to change the future because you can see the events that lead to the event singularity

    What an amazing show!!

    The show has resumed production of new episodes. Let's hope that ratings improve..It is a wonderful show that makes you think about how everything you do makes an impact on your future!

    Exclusive: 'FlashForward' shuts down production
    FlashForward is taking a step back.
    Sources confirm to me exclusively that ABC has temporarily shut down production on the rookie drama. The move comes a month after the departure of co-showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, and less than a week after FlashForward hit a new ratings low.
    An Alphabet spokesperson confirms the shutdown, but is quick to note that the show’s schedule was designed to accommodate such breaks. “They started production early so that they could have the luxury to do this,” says the rep. “They want to maintain the high quality of the show, and this gives the writers the opportunity to do so.”
    FlashForward’s lull won’t be nearly as long as the month-long creative hiatus ABC imposed over at V. The Alphabet rep says FF — which airs its mid-season finale on Dec. 3 — will resume production on Monday after just a six-day break.

    Want to know what caused the blackout? Read the book! There is a group in Sweeden trying to create/locate the Higgs Boson (the god particle). There is a machine called the LHC (large hadron collider). a lot of people think that using it will impact the entire world somehow. this is how the blackout happened in the book.

    This show has had me thinking loads. i think that the two people behind the flash-forwards weren't convinced it would work. The man who has the son in hospital seems to regret doing it, while the guy who plays charlie in lost believes he is God. I think their experiment went wrong or they just didn't expect so many people to die. The men who have the 3 starts tattooed on their arms obviously play a bigger part in all this than simply killing The detective. You probably already noticed this but in the last episode FIB found out that the man from the baseball stadium who was walking around during the blackouts was wearing a ring. Towards the end of the latest episode the men with the 3 star tattoo's were given several rings. i think these rings are to prevent the blackouts probably showing that the blackouts will happen again. I believe that when the man with the daughter from Iraq and his daughter go back to Iraq like in his flash forward, it is because they are being hunted down by the military. And now the only place they can turn is the enemy. The reason the future is now going to be different than in the flash forward, is due to probability. If the flash forwards hadn't occurred then that wouldn't have been the future anyway. Mark (the detective) saw in his flash forward that he was working on the case. If the flash forwards hadn't occurred then he wouldn't be there. So therefore the probability of the future now being the same as the flash forwards has changed. This is simple to explain. Its like picking a card out of a pack of cards. Remembering that card, and where it is in the pile can help you find it again. But now you know where it is the pack might get shuffled. Now you have no idea where the card is.
    Simple really.
