Based on the “Sookie Stackhouse” book series (also known as The Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris, created and produced by Alan Ball, True Blood is a vampire drama both scary and sexy which takes you in an intriguing world wherein vampires and humans coexist. On the strength of a Japanese scientist who invented the synthetic blood, vampires developed from legendary monsters into fellow citizens. Although human creatures have been apparently taken out of the main course, a lot of people still fear the creatures that burst out of the grave. While government officials and religious leaders chose their sides, in Bon Temps, a small northern Louisiana town, things are in balance.

The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who, sad to say, knows very well how it feels to be a castaway she was cursed to read people’s minds. Sookie is open-minded about the coexistence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, especially when it comes to Bill Compton, a handsome 173 year old boy living “next door”. Her tolerance will be put to the test when she will be lost into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill’s arrival in town. Characterized by the Emmy winning Ball as “popcorn for smart people”, the series will take you on a bloody and wild ride

I can't watch episode 5 of season one..... the alternative view is The Mentalist, not True Blood. I also can't watch episode 6 as there's no alternative and I don't have firefox :( I could watch episode 7 (even though there's no alternative) but now can't watch 8. It's a bit frustrating. Any idea why this is so?

We're now on series 2 starting on fx on the 26th of feb and series 3 isnt out in the US yet so they will get it before we do probably. it will probably be a long wait for us to get the third series but thats why the episodes are posted here cos we just couldnt wait for the second series :P

originally a fangbanger, eventually she was the queens favourite and was her lover. she was turned a while before she was killed, and became depressed because the queen had to marry one of the king vampires.
If Hadley wasn't her lover the why was the queen so upset when she died (shown during the witchy thing)???

You really should read the books if you are such a fan...

Ive read the books as well and yeah we should put people right if theyre not getting something but dont give too much of the books away cos its nice being surprised :)

People, what do you think about Sookie's cousin, Hadley? She was mentioned in season 1, episode 6 "Cold Ground". Sookie said that she run away from the rehab and Sookie didn't hear from her for more than one year. And then, in season 2, episode 11 "Frenzy", we see that she lives in Queen's palace. Hadley asked Bill about Sookie and gran. I think she is a kind of mysterious and interesting character. Hadley is obviously interested in Sookie's life, but somehow she cannot pick up the phone and call her. Why did she decide to live with vampires? Does she have the same abilities as Sookie? What do you guys think about it? May be someone who have read the books can provide some information.

they're completely different. some of the same things happen in both but the books focus more on sookie, whereas the series focuses on many more characters. depending on your taste, you might like one better than the other but i like both equally. i honestly can't choose!! they're both soo good!!!
