Based on the “Sookie Stackhouse” book series (also known as The Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris, created and produced by Alan Ball, True Blood is a vampire drama both scary and sexy which takes you in an intriguing world wherein vampires and humans coexist. On the strength of a Japanese scientist who invented the synthetic blood, vampires developed from legendary monsters into fellow citizens. Although human creatures have been apparently taken out of the main course, a lot of people still fear the creatures that burst out of the grave. While government officials and religious leaders chose their sides, in Bon Temps, a small northern Louisiana town, things are in balance.

The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who, sad to say, knows very well how it feels to be a castaway she was cursed to read people’s minds. Sookie is open-minded about the coexistence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, especially when it comes to Bill Compton, a handsome 173 year old boy living “next door”. Her tolerance will be put to the test when she will be lost into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill’s arrival in town. Characterized by the Emmy winning Ball as “popcorn for smart people”, the series will take you on a bloody and wild ride

    they have ruined TrueBlood! The Books are better! Things are happening when the shouldn't! Sookie shouldn't meet bill's make until the 4th book!!!!! (4th season) and thats only when she KILLS HER!!! GRRRRR! I shout at my screen i get so annoyed!

    Why do you watch it then if it annoys you? All you have to do is turn the channel or click it OFF....simple as that and you wont be annoyed anymore :/

    they can't do everything by the books, it's just based on them. True Blood is still an awesome tv series.

    any vampire books is helpfull,but mostly intereted in tha vampire diarys and true blood. have found twilight,so far so good:) if i have to wait to june for the 3rd season of true bllod,at least i can read the books:)

    u can buy them at adlibris.no they have the whole book set 7 books for i think around 400 swedish crona. but there are 8 books in the sookie stackhouse collection so far

    Hi - if you are missing your vampires addiction - another programme is The Vampire Diaries - which is pretty good. There is a series of books that this is loosly based on also. June seems such a long long way away to have to wait for Tru Blood!!!!

    i was watching x-mens the other day and I just realized that the actress who plays Sookie in true blood is the same actress who plays that girl in x-men,the one who can touch somebody and have the power they have. well,u know what i mean anyway :D lol

    Also can any1 figure it why she got the part in this series? Has something to do with her original power in Xmen!

    sookie doesnt marry eric they wnt give anyfne about what happenin wid them pluss erics not in a few of episodes in season 3 because he's of with the new bar maid at fangtasia tara and laffiet get boyfriends (taras of the vampire kind) and theres no news about what happend 2 bill
