Who doesn’t adore the dynamite-regurgitating and loose-tongued penguin brothers from the much beloved “Madagascar” films? After bearing the brunt of the two movies, they reap their laurels with their own show, jumping from the big screen to the small screen.
Appropriately titled “The Penguins of Madagascar”, the series follows the brothers as they rule the roost at Central Park, performing secret missions in the heart of the city. Skipper, the group’s leader, usually gives orders, names plans and slaps the others. The smartest and tallest of the penguins, Kowalski is behind the team’s brilliant plans. Rico, the pyrotechnic wizard, always spits up war gear and is romantically attached to a blonde plastic doll while Private, the most inexperienced of the penguins, cracks codes and also makes good tuna smoothies. Just as they think that everything is under control, Julien, Maurice and Mort move in next door threatening their plans.
The Penguins of Madagascar
Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, the executive producers of “The Penguins of Madagascar”, resurrected the good old-school cartoons… Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. teamed up to release this brilliant animated comedy series.

The DreamWorks Animation team developed richly creative characters that lend themselves to a series of their own – they are just plain hysterical. “Our ‘Madagascar’ penguins were hugely popular on the big screen, so it seemed natural to give them their own television show on the premier entertainment network for kids. This is likely the first of many future projects aimed at establishing a meaningful presence for DreamWorks Animation properties on Nickelodeon and we are thrilled to get this collaboration off the ground”, added DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg.
