Inspired from “Grey’s Anatomy“, the show follows Addison Forbes Montgomery, a renowned neonatologist surgeon, as she “begins the rest of her life”. After a broken marriage with Derek Shepherd and an unsuccessful relationship with Mark Sloan, Addison moves to Los Angeles leaving behind Seattle Grace Hospital and her past.

Private Practice

Private Practice

Once there, she reunites with Naomi and Sam Bennett, her friends from medical school, and joins them at their chic private practice, Oceanside Wellness Center in Santa Monica. Naomi is a fertility and hormone specialist and majority owner of the clinic while Sam, recently become her ex-husband, is an internist. He also wrote self-help books which had a huge success transforming him in the “common man’s medical guru”. Although they are divorced, Naomi and Sam co-exist for the sake of their daughter, Maya, and their medical practice. Among their colleagues ranks Dr. Cooper Freedman, the center’s resident pediatrician, who isn’t as successful in his personal life as he is in his profession.

Cooper finds consolation and also counsel in his closest friend, psychiatrist Dr. Violet Turner, probably because both have the same luck when it comes to love. As opposed to the two, the alternative medicine specialist, Dr. Pete Wilder, is a “catch” and more than that, between Addison and him is an immediate and even palpable chemistry. Keeping an eye on all, William Dell Parker is the young, quirky and confident receptionist. Although he may seem like a “butterfly” surfer, he is deeply interested in the medical profession. He has his heart set on becoming a midwife and sees in Addison the chance to have a mentor.

And there is Charlotte King, the Chief of Staff of the nearby hospital, who comes in conflict with the doctors from the center. She believes that their care methods are unorthodox and inferior to her own. Each episode of “Private Practice” manages to captivate through challenging cases and unexpected twists.

    Love love loooove this site!
  • Alisah
Thanks Cucirca!!!! You are by far the BEST site!!
  • foxterrier
You really are! Thanks a lot, now I don't need to search the internet for any single episode anymore.
So, any other fans than alisa and me here? :D
  • Alisah
Just like people are always asking when will be the next episode for xx show, it will take awhile until people realize that Private Practice is right here on cucirca..
.Just by chance I glanced at the Recent Posts, and was delighted to find that cucirca added PP :-)
  • foxterrier
Now there is another possibility to ask when the next episode will be up. Yay!
A little hint: Private Practice airs right after Grey's Anatomy.
So, about Private Practice. At the moment I find the Cooper-Violet-Charlotte-thing most interesting. It's really great to see how Violet deals with her pregnancy. I still hope there's a way for Charlotte and Cooper, they are just great together. She's really funny with her Southern accent (she has one, right? She sounds like she's chewing bubble gum while talking) and her sarcastic manners.
  • makepeace
I can only watch season 1 and 2. Where is season 5? I tought that the episode 16 is here... :(
  • foxterrier
Uh there are only two seasons. An episode guide would REALLY help you.
  • nekeura
yeeee now i dont have to go to any crapy site.. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:D
  • Alisah
Makepeace, foxterrier, is correct. Private Practice has only been on the air for 2 seasons. If you want to watch the cross-over episodes of Private Practice Episode 15 & 16, just scroll up this page and click on the episode 15 & 16 :-)

Foxterrier, I agree with you about Charlotte. I"m beginning to really love her vulnerability. She is too proud to admit that she loves & needs Cooper . And, yes, she has a thick Southern accent.
  • foxterrier
Usually I'm not very fond of Southern accents - no offence - but on her it sounds funny. She made big steps by the way. She asked him to marry her, she said she would move in with him and then BAM Cooper moves in with Violet. It's really nice of him but not the right decision in my opinion.
To make it understandable: Addison visits the Private Practice of Naomi and Sam in the last episode of season 3 in Grey's Anatomy. I think Private Practice and season 4 of GA started simultaniously. All the episodes aired are there. Don't expect real second parts in episode 15 and 16, only Derek, Miranda, Mark, Karev and the Chief are there in 16 and 15 is not really a crossover at all.
  • AGT
Where is episode 7 from season 1?

    A
  • Alisah
    @AGT
Cucirca, Episode 7 Season 1 entitled In Which Sam Gets Taken For A Ride is missing, at least from this page!!!
  • Alisah
    @AGT
The actual video for Episode 7 is not missing, just the link for it ...
  • Alisah
Thanks, cucirca! AGT ! the link for Episode 7 is here.Just scroll up this page & click on the link :-)
  • AGT
    Thanks!!!
  • foxterrier
Have you seen the previews? It's a crossover again and it's going to be really intense. I'm curious if Meredith even says yes if Derek asks her. It seems he's going nuts.
  • Alisah
Yes I saw the preview for the conclusion of the cross-over episodes! I wonder what will happen with everybody--Meredith/Derek, the pregnant lady, Archer...
  • foxterrier
I hope the pregnant lady survives. It always gets to me when it comes to babys. What do you think of Miranda wanting to be a pediatric surgeon? I'm not so sure, on the one hand she's great with kids, on the other hand it always affects her.
Since we are at the PP-part, what do you think of Archer and Naomi? I don't think they are gonna make it. And what's with Adison? She is overdue to meet a man and I was always hoping she and Pete would end up together. I guess with Pete maybe being the father of Violet's child that's impossible.
  • Alisah
What do you think of the latest PP episode "Wait & See"? In my opinion, Private Practice may be getting better than Grey's Anatomy in terms of interesting medical topics!

Somehow, I think Addison & Pete may eventually end up romantically together. They certainly balance each other :-)
  • Jax
I kneel at the throne of Cucirca u r Royalty!!!!!
  • Bito

    Jax :
I kneel at the throne of Cucirca u r Royalty!!!!!
  • foxterrier
Am I going crazy? I posted a comment about how I loved the last episode and that the PP-storylines are getting better than the ones from GA. Whatever, I love the thing between Cooper and Charlotte and he certainly proved himself a man. Archer's behavior didn't surprise me, although he's more successfull and better looking than Coop, he's not half the man Coop is. I would like seeing Violet and Sheldon together. At first he seemed like a geek but I'm starting to like him and he seems very sensitive and understanding, ready to take on responsibility.
  • Alisah
Foxterrier, actually I wrote here a comment that PP storylines are getting better than GA. Maybe you wrote your comment on the GA home page?

I also am beginning to like Sheldon. Charlotte & Cooper are adorable together. I think Addison & Pete will eventually be an item, and that Naomi & Sam will get back together
  • foxterrier
No, I checked it. Was my first thought, too.
I don't know about Pete, with Violet's baby and all. And he's screwing around again.
I'm not sure about Naomi and Sam either since they became friends. Yes, Sam called Sonia Naomi but that doesn't necessarily means he's still in love with Nai.
  • Alisah
That is So cute you call Naimi Nai, just like Addison!
  • Alisah
    oops... meant to type Naomi
  • foxterrier
Is it cute? Well, if you say so. Why do they make all these breaks? It's really hard to watch it, you almost forgot about the last episode when the next one is aired. It's not so much fun anymore. There are more weeks without GA and PP than with them.
  • Alisah
Actually a lot of shows are on breaks now, for example Desperate Housewives and One Tree Hill. It is true that you forget what happened in previous episodes.
Thank goodness for this great site cucirca, we can watch Private Practice like a marathon, one episode after another! :-)
  • foxterrier
Well, at least there is an episode of House on Tuesday to keep me alive. And I have more time for cleaning... yeah that's really a good thing.
Who do you think is the father of Violet's baby? I hope it's Sheldon, I think he could handle it better and that would leave the possibility of Addison and Pete.
  • Alisah
I also think that the father could be Sheldon. I like his intregrity, stability, & sense of responsibility-traits that Violet likes in Cooper who she misses as her best friend & soul-mate...
I think that in the end, Addison & Pete will be together. There definitely is chemistry between those two!
  • foxterrier
Yeah, there is lots of chemistry, I just don't know if Pete is really up to it. He would have to make a serious commitment and he doesn't like that. That's why I don't believe he would make a good father. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe he'll grow with the challenges but I don't think so.
Yes, Sheldon and Cooper are a lot alike, I didn't notice that before.
  • PP-Fan
Is Episode 17 "Wait & see" the last Episode of season 2
    Hope not Love it. x
  • Alisah
    @PP-Fan
No ,it is not the last episode of Season 2 of PP...the next one airs on March 12... I think there will be either 22 or 20 episodes in this season :-)
  • Alisah
    @PP-Fan
I also love Private Practice and love the characters & their extraordinary acting :-)
  • Alisah
Does anyone of you love Cooper/Charlotte? I nickname them
    Chooper, pronounce Shooper :-)
  • foxterrier
Yes I really like them, they are a great, dynamic couple, never boring or ordinary, from the way they met to the way Charlotte proposed. Chooper sounds nice.
  • ailzo
why does it say "connection problem"" when i try to watch anything? only just happened since last night
  • michelle
Is it just me? I really did not like Archer, and I am soo glad he is out of there, that relationship was nothing but disaster from day one, and i totally disagree, Cooper looks far better than Archer.
  • Alisah
    @michelle
You aren't the only one! I think Archer was chauvanistic & a womanizer & Addison was a good friend to warn Naomi not to trust him
  • AGT
When should we expect the new episode?
