Created by Tim Kring, Heroes is a science fiction television drama series which budded out of an idea as spontaneous as possible. In a world harrowed by wars, hate, famine and selfness… why wouldn’t be among us people gifted with abilities beyond normal boundaries, some kind of superheroes, who could be able to save us in the case of an imminent disaster? And thus and so, a few ordinary people discover, completely by chance, that they can do unusual things. The characters are so well created that viewers get the feeling that, at any time, even they themselves can become “the ones” and develop extraordinary superhuman powers. And now, say “hi!” to Heroes!!!
A level 3 programmer at Yamagato Industries in Tokyo, Japan, Hiro Nakamura discovers he has the ability to manipulate space and time. This special power allows him to teleport or travel through time. An avid fan of superheroes and science fiction, naïve and unappeasable, Hiro is convinced that along with other special persons, he can be a hero and change the future. At first, he is only able to speak Japanese, relying on his skeptical friend Ando Masahashi as his translator. Mohinder Suresh is a genetics professor at the University of Madras who becomes a key player because he finds a list of all “special people.
Claire Bennet is a high school cheerleader with the power of rapid cellular regeneration that makes her indestructible. Nicole “Niki” Sanders suffers of Dissociative Identity Disorder and has an amazing strength being able to literally rip others in half. As if that weren’t enough, her husband D.L. Hawkins can easily pass through solid matter, while their son Micah Sanders can communicate with and control digital technology. Matt Parkman is a Los Angeles police officer with the ability to read people’s minds and Isaac Mendez is a New York artist who can paint the future. Also in the Big Apple are the Petrelli brothers: Nathan, a congressional candidate, has the unbelievable power to fly, and Peter, a male nurse, can absorb and recall the abilities of those who are near him… The series explores the way they adapt to changes and their role in preventing catastrophes and saving humanity. Some people are born to be extraordinary… the fate of the world is in their hands and only they can maintain the balance between good and evil. Heroes returns with new episodes on September 21 2009.
