It’s the online equivalent of word-of-mouth advertising. And just like its offline cousin, it’s the most effective way to get new business.
In today’s world, there is much more to good search engine listings than simply optimizing your site for keywords.
.edu and .guv links have a great weight on your search engine rankings.
How to get this kind of links?
From edu and guv Blogs and Forums.
Daniel from Daily Blog Tips has found a neat way to search for .edu and .guv blogs where you can add a good comment a get a free backlink.
The only problem might be the nofollow attribute.
Using a couple of Google operators we can exclude those blogs from the results, making the whole process much more efficient.
site:.edu inurl:blog “comment” -”you must be logged in” -”posting closed” -”comment closed” “keyword”
Replace keyword with something like: gadgets, tennis or the closest thing to your website.
Once a week I will try to increase the number of this strong backlinks to this blog.
Thanks Daniel.

Now this is a great tip. I always new that getting ,edu was a good way to increase your page rank, but for most of us actually getting one seemed a little out of reach. Thanks again for the help.

that is an amazing tip. An easy way to check for nofollow is to download the seo extension for firefox at tools.seobook.com. I just built some links using your technique and when I visited the blogs, I was able to quickly look at other peoples comments and see if they had nofollowed comments.

I read something recently about getting link from a site that has been spammed by thousands of others could hurt the ranking even though it may have a high PR, tons of text…etc. I can find a handful of them with .edu but I am a bit skeptical. Any comments about that?
