Yesterday, Wordpress team released a great plugin that allows all wordpress owners (hosted or not hosted domain) to use WordPress.com Stats system on their blogs.

Automattic created its own stats system, to focus on just the most popular metrics a blogger wants to track and provide them in a clear and concise interface.
Installing this stats plugin is much like installing Akismet, all you need is to put in your API Key and the rest is automatic.
The good thing:
Finally, because all of the processing and collection runs on our servers and not yours, it doesn’t cause any additional load on your hosting account. In fact, it’s one of the fastest stats system, hosted or not hosted, that you can use.
The bad thing:
It doesn’t offer nearly as much detail and neither does it necessarily cover all the detail you might be interested in.
You have to get an API Key to use it and when you try to view your STATS, you are redirected to your Wordpress.com global dashboard, and if you’re not signed into it, you have to sign into that to actually see your stats.
