Yahoo Alpha, the reply to Google Co-op

Google Co-op is a platform that enables you to customize the web search experience for users of both Google and your own website.

The biggest google competitor has just launched Yahoo! Alpha (funny it actually Alpha (beta))

Yahoo Alpha is basically very similar with Google Co-op and it lets you create your own custom search engine.

However Yahoo Alpha has many improvements that deserve to be mentioned:

1. You can utilize any Yahoo Search tool (not only the index)

2. It pulls results from Flickr Photos

3. It pulls results from Yahoo! Answers

4. From Yahoo! News Search

5. From YouTube

6. And Wikipedia

Search Engines, like all the other online content and services will help webmasters ride off their system to create verticals, which they can monetize with search ads.
